Activist Legislatures

Well, Arnie decided to veto the Gay Marriage bill that both California's legislative branches voted approval for. It's very perturbing.

Part of me had hoped that Arnie would maybe actually do the right thing. To this date, no one's been able to provide me with any evidence as to how allowing homosexuals to marry wil destroy society and/or family values.

See, you see the studies as 'inconclusive'; whereas the neo-cons feel that NOT enough studies have been done. They're not happy with people saying 'there's nothing wrong with gay marriage... other then the bible disaproving it'.
It's sort of like their take on medical marijuana. The neo cons won't allow studies done about medical marijuana... because a) Marijuana is illegal... so nobody should have any and b) they are afriad that the studies will prove them wrong.
It's amazing how they don't need proof for teaching intelligent design BUT they want 2 zillion reports about global warming until they're willing to admit it's feasible.

First- I'm not a Calafornian, I'm from MA,... so I'm *not* 100% sure what he said on Leno.
However I did talk to a Californian friend yesterday and he said that the Govenator ran as a moderate but since then has been slapped down by the republican party and told to 'be more like them'. One of Arnie's promises was to get the feds to help Ca's budget woes, and to get that money he had to toe the line.

Or to put it another- Mitt *also* promised he was a moderate and he would let gays marry- to get the gay vote... However when it looked like gays were ACTUALLY going to get the right to marry, Mitt did everything in his power to stop this. Mitt, and Arnie, have delusions of greater things and saddly their base doesn't like gays.
